Musicianship - knowledge, skill, and artistic sensitivity in performing music. The ability to connect with cultures on different levels and dictate the mood of your audience.

ina Davis, is a composer, songwriter, spoken word poet, and proudly one of few aspiring female producers in NC. She is no stranger to music as she has been writing and composing for over two decades. She is known for her blended compilations of Jazz and R&B that will be sure to indulge the senses. Her musical influences include Prince, Dave Hollister, Brian Culbertson, Kirk Whalum, and a host of others. She grew up playing the piano in church and her continued desire to play led her to her initial debut as a keyboard player with the Armed Forces jazz band. While serving abroad, she later established Black Ivory Ink, LLC and emerged as an independent artist with the release of her first album Falling in Love Again produced by Jeffery Smith which has since been retired. Her love for music has allowed her to showcase her talents in Hawaii, Panama, and Europe. Tina also celebrated the international release of three singles one of which she produced. Her music has been featured on the Paul Miller Soul Unsigned Show, a branch of BBC Radio online. She was also the cover story of Jamsource Magazine and featured in Dysfunkshion magazine, a Hawaii lifestyle and fashion publication.

Tina Davis

She is self-taught in analog recording concepts and studied music production at the Los Angeles Film School. She is adept in a variety of digital recording platforms, mixing concepts, music for media, post production techniques, and project management. She is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) and the Audio Engineering Society (AES). Though her music may be known for the Jazz and R&B vibe, her talent and versatility allow her to explore other genres. Tina leads, writes, and records from the heart and gives each project personalized attention.

Bio:
I have over 19 years of experience with analog and digital recording and am now a graduate of the Los Angeles Recording School in Music Production. I am proud to say that I graduated Summa Cum Laude and was accepted into the National Honor Society of the Entertainment Arts.

That learning experience has allowed me the opportunity to stay abreast of the newest digital recording platforms to help me maintain my relevancy in the independent music field. As shown in my bio, my first album has been retired from the marketplace as I move in a different direction for my future music endeavors. My goal is to use my music as an avenue to touch on the things we all may go through in life. The spoken word version of Love Shouldn't Hurt So Bad was the step in starting my musical journey.

As far as my military experience, I served a total of 26 years counting my delayed entry. I worked as a medical laboratory technician conducting bacterial toxin research, student coordinator for the George Washington University medical laboratory technician program, as management in large military medical center labs, as well as laboratory support for the combat hospital during Operation Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. Since I retired, I currently work as a lead clinical laboratory scientist in microbiology, hematology, and chemistry as a federal employee. I've also completed my Masters in Occupational Safety and Health and hold the Graduate Safety Practitioner designation with the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. My plans to pursue a Doctorate in Public Health have been deferred so that I may focus on my first love, music.

Hobbies- Astrophotography-I enjoy studying and photographing deep sky objects and planets. My long-term goal is to one day work at NASA in any of the fields in astrophysics or in the outgassing laboratory.

Woodworking- My father gave me my first set of tools and I helped him build my playhouse as a child. I still have the love of building now after all of these years. If I can't find it, I will build it.

Leatherworking- My current project includes leather book covers and passport covers.

I am currently working on my instrumental album "Mixed Emotions" which will be a blended genre consisting of Jazz and R&B. This will be the first project I plan to produce on my own with "Feelings" as the first single. The release date is to be determined pending project completion.
